Introduction
Dr Alice Vanoni-Colombo is an FMH specialist in surgery with experience in general and visceral surgery. After her medical degree at the University of Lausanne, she trained in Ticino and French-speaking Switzerland, including a period in the visceral surgery department of Lausanne University Hospital.
Since 2021 she has been a senior physician in the visceral surgery department of the Ospedale Regionale di Lugano, at the Civico and Italiano sites. Since 2025 she has combined her hospital work with a private practice as a general surgeon.
Alongside clinical practice she is committed to teaching: she has contributed to studies in colorectal surgery, taught laparoscopy in Lausanne and is trained in robotic surgery.
With patients she combines the determination of a surgeon with kindness and the ability to listen. She puts each person at the centre of their care, taking time for their questions, paying attention to their needs and following them through to full recovery.
