Introduction
Dr Giorgia Lo Presti is an FMH specialist in general internal medicine, with a particular commitment to geriatrics and the care of older people. After graduating with distinction in Medicine and Surgery in Italy, she completed her training in Switzerland, working in several hospitals in the canton of Ticino.
Her career is marked by substantial clinical research, with publications in international journals, and by experience in geriatrics, palliative care, oncology and internal medicine. She is medical director of a residential care home and carries out traffic medicine examinations.
She is president of ASMACT, the association of resident and senior physicians, and is actively involved in training and in Ticino's medical professional bodies.
She believes in medicine centred on the person, where listening, prevention and continuity of care come together in a relationship of trust.
